This series of battery gauges are multi-functioning devices...Adjustable voltage range, separate controls for turning on the display and hour meter and an internal relay for powering auxiliary devices.
The battery gauge "empty" voltage reading can be adjusted to closely match the gauge to the actual battery level of charge. Seven battery voltage ranges can be selected for for each voltage range; 12, 24, 36 and 48 volt operation. See bottom of listing for range specifics.
The gauge is connected directly to the battery, but no display will show until a separate lead wire is taken to plus volts. The gauge is monitoring the battery all of the time. By having a separate connection to illuminate the display, it stops the battery from discharging if left for extended periods.
Another connection is used to enable the hour meter. Therefore it is possible to view the battery state of charge, but not accumulated hours until it is desired to do so.
An internal relay logic output allows powering auxiliary devices using your external solid state relay. The relay logic output is present until the battery is "empty" at which time the logic output shuts off.

BATTERY STATUS:

1. The battery meter has 10 LEDS that will light to show the battery condition. When fully charged, only the 10th LED will light shown a green LED.

2. As the battery discharges, successively lower LEDs will light; The 9th, 8th, 7th and so on lighting only 1 LED.

3. At approximately 30% battery life, the #3 LED will light and the color is Yellow as a caution indicator.

4. At approximately 20% battery life remaining, the #2 LED will light as a Flashing Yellow.

5. When the battery discharges to approximately ~10% remaining life, the #1 LED will start FLASHING RED with the #2 LED FLASHING Yellow alternately.

6. It is recommended to have the battery or batteries recharged when the #3 LED lights Yellow as a safety margin to prevent dead batteries.
